Chocolate [Mayonnaise] Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting – Recipe

I know it may sound gross to you…BUT…you have got to try this cake!!! I got this recipe from my Auntie Karen who happens to be the best baker I know. I always remember having dessert at her house whenever we went and it was always amazing. Birthday cakes and wedding cakes and every occasion cakes were always made by Auntie Karen! I did not inherit the amazing baking gene and the love for baking that she did from my Grandma Sutton, but this recipe is super easy to follow and let’s face it, who doesn’t love licking out the bowl of the frosting when you’re done?? Trust me, even if you don’t love cake or chocolate (like me), you’re gonna love this cake!

Chocolate [Mayonnaise] Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting

  1. Sift and blend flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda and salt.
  2. Add mayonnaise, water and vanilla. Stir until mixed well.
  3. Grease a 9×13 pan and pour batter in evenly.
  4. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

For the Frosting

  1. Combine cream cheese and butter, beating until smooth.
  2. Add sugar and vanilla, beat until light and fluffy.
