EZPZ Mats Product Review

A little over a year ago, I purchased this thing called the EZPZ mat. If you’ve followed my journey here, you’ve probably heard me talk about them. Since that purchase, EZPZ has released several more products and I have tried just about every single one of them (seriously, the snack mat is the only one I don’t own). I never knew what I was getting into. Now, I’m obsessed with them and I tell everyone about them because they are life changing, at least they were for us.

Basically, the EZPZ mat is a placemat and plate/bowl all in one. It is designed to make mealtimes easier, less messy and way more fun! It is made of food grade silicone that is BPA, PVC and phtalate free. It is dishwasher and microwave safe and super easy to clean. And, they come in all sorts of fun colors! Here are the main options:

My first purchase was the original Happy Mat. And then I received the bowl as a gift. The bowl is smaller and worked better for us in the beginning. I can’t tell you what a proud Mommy Moment I had when Leilani started to figure out how to feed herself, and having the mat stick to the table was a huge help for her! I say it was life changing because it really was. I think she was just as proud of herself and I was!

I started getting more and more of them and ended up getting the micro mats, which are tiny and I can’t wait for Leilani to have more teeth so we can start introducing small morsels of food on them and play dress up and have tea parties with them. We have the activity mat as well and I can’t wait to use those! I think we’ll try doing Playdoh with them this weekend.

And more recently, the Mini Mat happened. I was so excited about this option I could barely wait! I was one of the lucky ones and purchased and got one from the first round. They literally sold out in 3 hours! We take this one with us everywhere we go. Sure, the compartments are a bit smaller (2 oz. for each eye and 4 oz. for the mouth), but there are these things called ‘seconds’ that if Leilani is still hungry, I can always give her more. I can’t tell you how many people have stopped by our table when we are at a restaurant apologizing for their interruption, but wanting to know more about the mat itself! And I don’t even care that I’ve been interrupted because I just want to tell everyone about them, they are THAT amazing!

I’ve had some people say that they were disappointed that their kid could still lift the mats off the table. And yes, some kids will peel at the edges, but for the most part they are tempted to pull on the plate, which does not lift when suctioned to the table properly. Make sure that the edges are all on the table – if a little is hanging over, it won’t stick well. To help with suction, wipe the table and bottom of the mat with a damp cloth before putting it down and pressing along the edges. The other concern that someone brought up was the size of the compartments. The original mat is 4 oz. for each eye and 10 oz. for the mouth. Which, if your kid is eating more than that, like I said previously, there is always seconds!

I have personally connected with this company and the owner because Lindsey is such an amazing person! When asked questions, she personally answered them for me. And she was such an inspiration to me and an amazing support system when it came to sharing Leilani’s story. I will forever be grateful for her! I also love that she has a pediatric Speech and Language Pathologist and Feeding Specialist on staff AND that she’s so involved with Changing the Face of Beauty.
