Lee Ann’s Chili

I’ve been told that my chili is more like a soup – I do make it a bit runnier so that you can add noodles. Yes, I put noodles in my chili, it’s how my mom made it and we happen to love it!

Instructions
  1. Brown the ground beef/turkey with onion, celery and garlic in a large pot. While you are cooking, season with salt, pepper, Lawry's or whatever you normally season your ground meat with. If there is any excess fat, drain.
  2. While the meat is browning, boil noodles according to package and drain. Set aside.
  3. Mix in tomatoes, beans, jalepeno and half of the tomato juice. Stir in the packet of seasoning and can of beef broth. You can use water if you do not have or wish to use the beef broth.
  4. Bring to a boil and simmer. Add chili powder, sugar, celery salt, worcestershire sauce, tabasco and continue to simmer for another 15-20 minutes. Add noodles if you wish or serve them on the side if you don't want them to get too mushy.
  5. Serve hot with your favorite toppings. Our favorites are shredded cheddar, sour cream and thinly sliced jalepenos! Stir in the remaining tomato juice if it gets too thick (after adding the noodles) or to your desired thickness. Enjoy!
